Recycling Guidelines

DOs



  • Aluminum: Aluminum Cans

  • Glass: Clean Food Jars, Colored Bottles

  • Paper: Newspapers, Magazines, Advertising Inserts, Junk Mail and Phone Books

  • Plastics #1-7, with some exceptions: Clean Milk Jugs, Beverage Containers, Detergent Jugs, Shampoo and Conditioner Bottles (Stamped #1 or #2 on the bottom.) #3-7 (Juice, yogurt, dairy, margarine tubs, prescription vials, clean garden pots or flats) Clean plastic trays, cups and plates.

  • Steel and Tin: Clean Food Cans and Lids

DON'Ts


No Garbage, No Food Residue



  • Aluminum: No Aluminum Foil or Foil Trays, No Aerosol Cans or Paint Cans

  • Glass: No Mirrors or Window glass, No Ceramics or Dishes, No Broken Glass or Light Bulbs

  • Paper: No Tissue, Disposable Diapers or Rags, No Wrapping Paper, No Food-Soiled paper (such as pizza or fast food boxes), No Books

  • Plastics: No Plastic Shopping Bags, No Toxic Containers (such as motor oil), No Plastic stretch wrap, No Hangers

  • Card Board: No Cardboard or Chipboard (Cereal or Food Boxes)

  • Other: No Styrofoam, Packing Peanuts or Tissue

All containers must be emptied and rinsed.
